Our Immigrant Ancestors is a compilation of biographical profiles of the immigrant ancestors of Andrew M. Foreman and his wife Lena Mabel Allen. Each “entry” includes, to the extent known, the birth date and place, names of parents and siblings, marriage date and place, names of children, immigration data, and other interesting biographical information for a couple. The text is divided into two Parts: Part 1 covers 24 ancestor couples of Andrew. M. Foreman, and Part II covers 110 ancestor couples of Lena Mabel Allen. Among these 134 couples (entries) are 225 immigrant ancestors. Many of the ancestors are prominent persons, such as Nicolas Martiau, the founder of Yorktown, Virginia, and the earliest immigrant ancestor of George Washington, and Thomas Hooker, the Father of Connecticut, who wrote the Connecticut Fundamental Orders that formed the basis for the U.S. Constitution. Included are immigrants that came from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Grand Duchy of Baden, Grand Duchy of Wurttemberg, Grand Duchy of Schleswig, Dutch Republic (Netherlands), France, Switzerland, and Barbados.
